105 Days to Book Launch – March 19, 2016
Today I am interested in finding blogs that do book reviews for Middle grade books. So far most of the ones I have checked out are either so popular they only take reviews from the big publishers or not on target. I have found a few gems though so I am not discouraged. One that looks promising is The Book Nut. Another one MrsMommyBookNerd is a big site that does book reviews.
I think my best success will be finding smaller blogs that do book reviews and are not so overwhelmed. Small fish in a puddle has a better chance of being noticed.
Twitter Update: I was tempted to not renew my ManageFlitter account but I decided to keep going. At $12 dollars a month it is the only paid service I am using and as I get better at understanding how to use it I think it will be worth it. Will see at the end of this month if I think the same. Because my site is so new if I follow too many people (like 200) I get warned to sloooow down. So then I have to wait a few days to get leveled out. Sort of a stop – start situation for the present.
There are two schools of thought with Twitter. Some folks think the more followers the better regardless of who they are and others swing the pendulum to the opposite side and only follow those they actually already know and want to connect with. Since I am using Twitter to find new people to connect with I am trying to stay in the middle. Following people that fit my target audience profile or have some connection with books and book marketing.
I did buy a new Kindle book today. Virtual Book Tour Magic by Dan Lynn Smith. So far it looks like it will be a good book to plan a Virtual Book Tour. Was looking at my spreadsheet of expenses and it looks like I tend to buy one book a month on book marketing. For me, this helps me to learn new things and keep motivated. I am going to start a page on this site that lists the books I have on marketing and my thoughts on how good (or not) they are. Just in case anyone is interested.
