I read an interesting article about authors using Scrivener rather than Word. I was very impressed with the article and am seriously thinking about getting it – when I have $40.00 to spend on something like that. Here is an interesting article about it. It’s now officially on my wish list.
Finished reading Brian Rathbone’s book and still excited about it. I like the fact that he spends a lot of his social media time on twitter. For me – that is what I seem to be gravitating toward so it is nice to see another author positive about it.
I want to follow one of his suggestions which is to create a list of tweets and schedule them. He said he has over 3000 tweets that he rotates. Amazing. Of course he has been doing it for along time. But Brian is not just a scheduled tweeter – he interacts with retweets and likes and and adds things spur of the moment. But having a foundation of tweets that can carry one through an intense writing spell which is good.
Found a website today that I thought would be really great as it is a group of MG writers who have banded together to share. I thought how awesome but further investigation showed that it is closed to new members and even if it wasn’t they only accept traditionally published authors. Really starting to get tired of “indie authors need not apply.”
Still that is what this site is about. Marketing a children’s book as a self published author. It can be done. Least that is what I keep telling myself.
