Yesterday on GoodReads I found another list of eBook promotion sites. It is in a spreadsheet format compiled by author Sharon Karaa . At the time of this writing the list is available for free (though a dollar donation won’t be turned away).
This is what Sharon says about it on her website:
The ebook Promotion Sites Review file is an excel spreadsheet of 125+ ebook promo sites but it is so much more than that. It gives you enough information to make informed decisions about where to spend your advertising budget. It includes ALEXA rankings (this shows how popular the site is and the lower the score the better the site), the number of followers on social media, the price and I’ve even given you the ROI I previously achieved (within the last 12 months) from using some of the sites. I’ve included some screen shots below so you can see what you get.
I downloaded it this morning and I am sure I will find it quite helpful. I haven’t looked at it in depth yet but it is neat that because it is a spreadsheet you can sort the information. What is very helpful is that she has a comment on each listing so that gives you a definite starting point. I think one needs to do one’s own judgement on some of the sites – for instance she listed Butterflybooks as a poor investment – $1 per book sold with an initial investment of $75. A day or two ago I had read on another GoodReads post that Butterflybooks was one of the few sites an author had had success on.
Factors that will change from one author to another for some promotion sites will be Genre, cost, cover, description, etc. Personally I don’t care for most of Sharon’s covers and that would be a factor in my even looking at her books. Another factor is her books are about witches and romance and I’m not into either of those at the moment. But then again I may have to try one and see for myself. She doesn’t have a “free” sample of her books – and I would like that. WHICH also tells me how important it is for me to get up a free book soon!
